Thank you for a great family vacation Marriott! We enjoyed our stay and your complimentary breakfast and weekday snack time! So close to Knott’s and Medieval Time we had fun and came back to relax in the pool and jacuzzi! The kids and dog enjoyed your grassy areas to play. I highly recommend La Mirada Residence Inn:).

This hotel is #3 of 3 hotels in La Mirada, so take that under advisement. It is on the edge of town, if there is actually a town. It is located in an area that is more industrial, right near the freeway. Very little healthy eating options nearby. None, actually. Rooms are quiet but the buildings are all spread out so we had to walk about 200 yards from our building back to the main lobby to partake in the free breakfast. Note - do not bother with the free breakfast. Congealed scrambled eggs, warm coffee, the usual reheated breakfast items that some gigantic food supplier is making in some factory located in an industrial park, just like where this hotel is. As we were leaving we noticed the local county sheriff training van parked out front. Seems they use this hotel as a staging area for crime scene investigation training. Not a good look to see someone carrying a dummy out of a van for this very purpose. Seriously. That was the last thing I saw as we drove away.
Rooms had been cleaned but I wouldn't say they had scene a deep cleaning or overall "sprucing up" in a long time. At 185 bucks per night it's obvious that you're paying based on supply and demand for rooms in the area, and probably based on what business travelers are paying. The price is most certainly not based on the quality of the facility.
Upside - friendly staff. Easy check in and check out.

Everyone was fabulous and they even allowed us a very late checkout of 1pm which was nice too. They have almost finished a very nice renovation and the rooms were very roomy with all kinds of amenities including kitchen and you name it. Plus there are many restaurants not too far away. Pool and spa open late which we love and heated nicely!!! Highly recommend staying here! Zero complaints. Perfecto!

I wanted to check out before I checked in. To be fair, I arrived during a time of renovation at this hotel so the extra construction and disarray did not help. But this is a sad little motel. For women traveling alone, note I said motel. The rooms are all with exterior doors. And it's loud. You hear the roar of I-5 which is right next to the hotel. As well as the early morning train. Everything reverberates, so you hear your neighbors very clearly, even when they aren't doing anything particularly loud. The pool looked dirty. The barbecue grills were dirty. The gym was dirty. The hotel shuttle was broken. But at least the rooms were passable. The mattress is encased in plastic, which is loud to sleep on. And points to previous problems. If you want an inexpensive hotel in the area, you can still do better than this Residence Inn. I moved over to the new Hampton Inn and I was SO glad that I did. All that said, the staff works hard to overcome the facility. They were uniformly cheerful, helpful, and eager to please.

We used Pool and it was also maintained nicely. I believe they can add few more options and daily variations in their breakfast menu.

BEWARE. This hotel was subject to a mandatory power blackout for the day after I checked out. You need to call this place before you book to ensure one of these power blackouts is not in place for any night during your stay.
Check in/out were smooth and quick. The room was in need of a serious upgrade but was clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. This hotel is located in an industrial type area. The shower/tub in my room DID NOT drain so I was standing in ankle deep water...not a fan! Breakfast was the typical and everything was fresh.
Last but biggest issue was the breakfast attendant sneezed or coughed into her hands but instead of making a beeline to wash, she strolled over to the desk and started talking with the clerk...breakfast done for me at that point and I will not return to this property.
